Five young Muscovites set off together to visit a remote monastery near the secluded village of Topi. All of them are fleeing problems in the capital—one has been dumped by her fiancé, another is running from an ex-husband, while a third is dying of cancer—and they hope to find help, answers, or simply a place to hide for a while at the monastery. But the monastery turns out to be abandoned, people keep going missing in the area, and the locals are acting strangely. When one of the visitors also disappears without a trace, the others decide to stay and uncover the truth at any cost, no matter how impossible it may be.
