In the abandoned garden of a manor, in a burdock forest, lives a couple of elderly snails of a foreign breed. All their lives they dreamed of only one thing: to be boiled and lie on a silver platter. What that meant, they didn't know—they had only heard it was very aristocratic. They had no children of their own, so they adopted a son from common, ordinary snails—and in time, a suitable bride was found for him.
