The "At the Crab" hotel on Norderney Island seems to be haunted, and that's why no one stays there. While Papa Mick checks into the hotel, Emma and Lucas set up an ambush near it.

It's a good thing that Great-Uncle Janssen has perfectly equipped a detective van specifically for such cases. It literally has everything, from all sorts of technological innovations that allow you to see and hear literally through walls, to an impressive supply of food that might come in handy during several days of tracking a criminal.

And the ghosts don't keep them waiting. Their howling and rattling make the walls shake and shift. And they scare Papa Mick so much that he leaves the hotel in a terrible panic. But it's not so easy to scare Emma and Lucas. Besides, they guess that dishonest and cunning people are probably hiding behind the guise of ghosts. They return to the hotel and, risking their lives, not only expose the criminals but also save the life of a noble elderly lady.

The key to success in the investigation is simple: Emma and Lucas are observant, clever, and fearless. And they perfectly complement each other. And the fact that they are still children only helps them get into places where not every adult would dare to go.

The captivating plot, charming characters, and excellent translation by Pavel Frenkel guarantee reading from the first to the last page in one sitting.
