Non-flying dog

Alexey Eroshin's poems are best read aloud: expressively, from the heart, and, of course, with a child. His poems are "restless," unpredictable, and imaginative. At times there's a moral lesson, but it's unobtrusive, and the wordplay is always impeccable.
Eroshin seemingly writes about what surrounds us or is well-known, but always with an unexpected twist or ending. A crocodile went to a resort, sunbathed as expected, but "in eight days, he became twice as... greener!" A moth suffered – because there were only synthetic clothes in the closet: "A coat made of oil – it doesn't taste the same at all! Replacing wool with viscose leads to avitaminosis." Petrovich, the polar explorer and diligent worker, transmits weather reports, and in his free moments "plays checkers with bears for flicks in the light of the polar moon."
Artist Sergey Gavrilov, picking up on the author's conversational tone, amusingly acts out and complements the poems' plots with cheerful illustrations.
Everything together – text and pictures – gives both children and adults an unparalleled pleasure that can only be obtained from reading and examining a truly good book. The book will be of interest to readers of all ages, but primarily to elementary school children.
