The book includes three fairy tales about bosom friends – Bo the elephant and Felix the mouse.
"A Story of Transformations"
In the first story, Bo the elephant becomes small and sees the world through the eyes of his friend, Felix the mouse. He starts noticing things he hadn't paid attention to before, and the world opens up to him in an amazing way. It turns out that flower stamens look like drumsticks, and an anthill is a very complex structure. The elephant swims across a puddle on a raft, flies over the river and forest on the wing of Aunt Varvara – Felix's acquaintance, a crow. Once he's big again, he's happy about what happened to him, but firmly decides for himself: "It's good that everything in the world is exactly as it is."
"The Great Laundry"
After the Day of Wonderful Transformations comes the Day of the Great Laundry. Bo and Felix decide to do laundry and whip up so much snow-white foam that it covers the entire city. Looking outside, residents think it has snowed. Snow in the middle of summer – isn't it a miracle? Felix calls a street sweeper to wash away the foam. So, along with their clothes, the friends also washed the entire street!
"About Three Secrets"
In the beautiful time of golden spheres and ripe apples, Bo confesses to Felix that he has a secret. On their way to the park, where Bo's secret is hidden, they meet a mole. The mole also has a secret. Then they see a raccoon, and he has his own secret. It turns out that there are many secrets in the world, each better than the last! And to see them, you just need to stop and take a closer look.
This book was created and illustrated by artist Alena Chernaya. First, stories were born, which she told to her little daughter and other children. The heroes of these stories are never bored, and miracles happen to them in the most ordinary places: at home, on the street, in the park. Then the idea for the book emerged, and illustrations appeared. In 2019, the series "About Big and Small" won the "Book Image" competition in the "Author's Book" category.
Recommended for reading aloud to children aged three and up.
