The collection "Something Good" includes four humorous stories created by the world-renowned Canadian duo – children's author and storyteller Robert Munsch and artist Michael Martchenko: "Moira's Birthday," "Stephanie's Ponytail," "Thomas' Snowsuit," and "Something Good."
The heroes of these stories are ordinary primary school children, their parents, and teachers. The stories that happen to them also start with very ordinary things. But then… then events unfold in the most incredible way, each time leading to a hilariously funny ending.
Munsch's stories are incredibly popular, especially with children, because they all dream of seeing themselves similar to his main characters, who are not afraid to stand up for their opinions to adults, know exactly what they want, and always find a way out of difficult situations.
It should be noted that Robert Munsch's characters are always real children who inspired him with their behavior or a funny life story, and these children always appear in the stories under their real names. Munsch himself has three children who, incidentally, became the heroes of the story "Something Good." In other words, about all of Robert Munsch's books without exception, one can confidently say: based on a true story!
Robert Munsch is an incredibly popular Canadian children's author. He has created over 80 books that are published worldwide, with a total circulation exceeding 70 million copies. For his contributions to children's literature, Robert Munsch was awarded the highest civilian national honor – the Order of Canada, and was also recognized with a star on Canada's Walk of Fame in Toronto. But perhaps the most reliable, albeit unofficial, measure of Robert Munsch's success is the fact that his books are the ones young readers most often don't want to return to the Toronto Public Library, preferring to keep them. Presumably, every writer secretly dreams of such widespread affection.
Thirteen different artists tried to illustrate Robert Munsch, but only his collaboration with Michael Martchenko helped his stories find "their face" and come to life with new colors.
