The Chronicles of Narnia

The Chronicles of Narnia is C.S. Lewis's world-famous series about a magical land where good always triumphs, even when it seems the wondrous world is in danger of perishing forever. This book contains all seven stories in the series, telling the story of the origins of this magical land, its creator, the mighty lion Aslan, and the adventures of children from an ordinary family in Narnia: "The Magician's Nephew," "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," "The Horse and His Boy," "Prince Caspian," "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," or, "To the End of the World," and others. The Chronicles of Narnia are enjoyed by people of all ages, but the first encounter with this magical world should take place in childhood, when fresh perceptions and belief in miracles are especially strong. The series is extremely popular worldwide, with a total circulation of over 100 million copies in 47 languages. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is included in Time magazine's list of "100 Great Novels in the English Language," and The Last Battle won the Carnegie Medal, Britain's most prestigious children's book award. The books have been adapted into films several times. The first 10-part television series premiered in 1967, and the fourth, most famous, aired on the BBC in 1989–1990. It covered the events of the first four novellas. In the second half of the 1990s, the series was edited into three films and released on DVD. Recently, media giant Netflix announced it is developing series and feature films based on all seven books in The Chronicles of Narnia series.
