Homeward Bound on a Dangerous River

Mouse, Turtle, and Rabbit are rushing home before dark. Mouse chooses a shortcut across the river with marshy banks. They say crocodiles live in the river, but Mouse thinks that's complete nonsense. After all, she's never seen crocodiles there! While her friends briskly walk across firm, bumpy hummocks, make their way through bushes with sharp thorns and thickets of flexible vines, Mouse tells Turtle about the bumpy backs, sharp claws, and flexible tails of crocodiles. Meanwhile, Rabbit keeps seeing things, but stubborn Mouse doesn't listen to him and leads her friends forward along the dangerous river.
This picture book, conceived and illustrated by the wonderful British artist Jonny Lambert, promises all readers an exciting adventure. While children search for and count crocodiles, parents can act out this funny and instructive story.
