Anna Karenina has been filmed 30 times, with Tchaikovsky and Rodion Shchedrin writing the music for the ballet, and the leading role played by Greta Garbo and Vivien Leigh, Alla Tarasova and Tatyana Samoilova, Sophie Marceau and Keira Knightley.
